India is becoming an increasingly important and more interesting market for Italian companies. With a commercial exchange equal to 7.5 billion Euros in 2016, Italy is India's 5th partner among EU countries, with over 500 companies present in the country; in this context, the enterprises of Emilia Romagna play a very important role, if we consider that in the last ten years their exports to the Subcontinent have registered an increase of 42%.
About that, Confindustria Emilia-Romagna, in collaboration with BNL BNP Paribas Group and Emilia-Romagna Region, organized the workshop “Business and investment opportunities in India”, with the aim of providing Emilia-Romagna companies with useful information for better understand the Indian world and business opportunities present. The meeting, which will take place Wednesday 19 April 2017 in Bologna at 14.30, at the headquarters of Confindustria Emilia-Romagna (via Barberia 13), will see the participation of the Consul General of India in Italy and entrepreneurs and operators interested in business development in the Indian market; it is also a useful opportunity to present to companies a regional inter-association project dedicated to the Indian market (promoted by the Emilia-Romagna Confindustria System, in collaboration with the Emilia-Romagna Region).
Octagona, present in India for 15 years through direct offices (New Delhi and Bangalore) and already an accredited supplier for the Ministry of Economic Development, for the Emilia-Romagna Region and for the Lombardy Region for the provision of internationalization services, will provide its contribution within the event, testifying to the role of leading company in internationalization processes on the Indian market. In particular, Alessandro Fichera, Managing Director of Octagona, will carry out his speech focusing on commercial and investment opportunities for Made in Italy.
The opportunities in India are innumerable but must be identified carefully, since the Indian market, in addition to providing very high growth potential, hides many pitfalls due to the logistical, cultural and operational complexity.
