Relations between Italy and India can today be considered positive. Both Rome and New Delhi have inaugurated a new phase of collaboration: precisely on the occasion of recent meeting took place in New York between the respective Premiers of the two countries, Conte and Modi, the latter called for a strengthening of bilateral and trade relations and invited Italian companies, especially SMEs, to take into consideration the great opportunities offered by the Subcontinent, especially in view of productive investments.
Is exactly on the basis of these premises the strategic program was born Access India Initiative (AII) promoted byIndian Embassy in Rome. The project, which is part of the broader national Make in India programme, launched by the Government several years ago, aims to give a significant acceleration to business and economic-commercial development between Italy and India, especially in consideration of one important aspect: India needs technology, know-how and skills, but an approach to this market can be complex for an industrial fabric such as the Italian one, made up of micro-SMEs. The AII program therefore intends to support Italian companies to better understand the characteristics of the Indian market and to provide them with an innovative platform capable of assisting them in the first access steps. The initiative, conceived in a long-term perspective, is aimed at attract local investment and it is aimed at companies that want to open production facilities, and to SMEs already engaged in import-export transactions with India but who think in a wider time horizon.
For the management and implementation of the entire program, the Embassy has decided to rely on Octagona, a company that deals with business internationalization and a deep knowledge of the Indian market and its dynamics, thanks to a consolidated experience of 17 years in the country and the presence of 3 direct offices (New Delhi, Bangalore and Pune) and 8 offices partners (Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Ludhiana, Chandighar, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Dewas), where the local team operates.
The project, which will last at least until 30 September 2020, predicts the implementation of the following steps:
Octagona will then take care of implementing the entire Project Management phase, coordinating the activities between the Embassy and the companies involved: in this regard, and with the aim of chronologically monitoring the development of the program and the succession and implementation of the different steps, periodic updating, planning and control meetings are scheduled between the same Knowledge Partner and the Institution promoting the 'initiative.
