Internationalization Voucher 2021: applications open from 9 March

To relaunch Italian exports and support the digital transition of Italian SMEs, Invitalia has allocated 50 million euros as a non-repayable grant through the 2021 Internationalization Voucher. Part of the Export Pact presented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in June 2020, the call It is aimed at micro and small businesses that want to expand abroad and finances the costs of temporarily hiring a Temporary Export Manager (TEM) with digital skills into the company.

Who is the 2021 Internationalization Voucher aimed at?

The call is intended for small businesses with fewer than 50 employees in the manufacturing sector (Ateco C code) with registered office in Italy. Networks between micro and small businesses are also permitted.

How does it work?

Starting from March 9th and until March 22nd, micro and small enterprises (MPI) can book the Voucher. Applications must be sent between 25 March and by 15 April from 10 to 17, excluding public holidays and days before public holidays. Requests are evaluated in chronological order of arrival.

From 27 March, 10am, a second time window will also be opened until 5pm on 15 April 2021 when the platform will be reopened to complete and prepare the application.

What does it finance?

The Voucher covers the expenses for TEM consultancy contracts recognized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the appropriate list, for a minimum duration of one year. In the case of networks, the contract has a minimum duration of 24 months. Furthermore, the financing is designed for consultancy that includes the following activities:

– market analysis and research;
– identification and acquisition of new customers;
– assistance in internationalization contracts;
– increase in presence on e-commerce platforms;
– integration of online marketing channels;
– advanced management of logistics flows.

How much is the contribution?

The contribution, granted under the "de minimis" regime, amounts to:

– 20,000 euros for micro and small businesses for a consultancy contract of no less than 30,000 euros, net of VAT;
– 40,000 euros for business networks against a consultancy contract of an amount not less than 60,000 euros, net of VAT.

Furthermore, you will be able to receive an additional contribution of 10,000 euros if you achieve the following results on sales volumes abroad:

– increase of at least 15% in the turnover deriving from operations towards foreign countries recorded in the 2022 financial year, compared to the same turnover recorded in the 2021 financial year;
– incidence – in the 2022 financial year – at least equal to 6% of the turnover deriving from operations towards foreign countries on the total turnover.
