In a very stormy 2022, characterized by high inflation and the war in Ukraine, there is good news on theexport Made in Italy in the world.
The Italian economy appears more resilient than expected even in this new context of global turmoil, with skyrocketing energy and raw material prices, shortages in supplies of raw materials and components, up to the war in Ukraine and the new Covid restrictions in China.
Therefore, Made in Italy flies around the world, to the point of maintaining Italian exports at excellent levels and increasing the GDP.
The first six months of 2022 have scored a national exports equal to 306 billion euros, 56 more than the previous year. The numbers are record-breaking with over 572 billion euros in 12 months.
From a geographical point of view, Made in Italy is oriented both towards European markets, with France and Germany in first place (with a growth of over the 15%), and in non-European markets where the products of our country are highly appreciated, particularly in the United States, which recorded an increase in imports from Italy of over the 31%, hitting a new all-time high. A reason of great interest for the United States is also the strength of the dollar in this historical moment.
Istat data show how Italian exports are mainly driven by petroleum products (+70%), sales of metals and metal products (+26%), chemical substances and products (+19%) and machinery (+14.7%).
Italy is therefore at the top of international trade not only for the famous "three Fs" (Fashion, Food and Supplies, or fashion, food and furniture), but also, in addition to the products listed above, for building materials, tanned and worked leather, travel items, leather goods and tubes, pipes and profiles.
Many numbers that serve to indicate a trend but above all a great opportunity. Perhaps never before has the world been ready to welcome Italian excellence. Many companies have already realized this, others will arrive late.
