Good news for companies engaged in the food sector: the Vietnamese government has released new data that tell us how the cultivation of Vietnamese organic products will increase sharply in the coming years. Notably, land devoted to large-scale cultivation of Vietnamese organics in the capital will double from 2,600 to 5,500 hectares over the next 5 years, according to Vietnam's Plant Protection Department.
Currently these products are grown in 14 gardens located in various municipalities in the suburbs of Hanoi. Each district is responsible for evaluating the quality of the land it manages and must select parcels where growing organic vegetables is economically and technically feasible.
This expansion is also encouraged by the new legislation on cultivation, which over the next 5 years will favor the privatization of the land currently in the hands of the Government, which will then be used as spaces for agriculture.
Consequently, this is great news for Italian companies that want to export to Vietnam or enter the Vietnamese market.
