Pierpaoli Srl is a family business founded in 1939 in Senigallia and deals with the production of household cleaning products, from the person (personal and baby care) and of skin care. It is still operating in these sectors but since 2005, it has converted production by focusing attention on eco organic products. Pierpaoli produces a wide range of organic and eco-bio certified cosmetics, marketed both under its own brand and in private labels. Thanks to its production capacity it has managed to build a solid presence on the national and international market.       The objectives:

  • Understand trends and characteristics of UAE market with reference to the cosmetics sector;
  • Individuate compatible local counterparts in the target market;
  • Meet (virtually or physically) the counterparties interested in the Customer's products/services;
  • Attend some key events on the local market (e.g. trade fairs/conferences/events...) for acquisition of new prospects.

Strategy and Action

To carry out the project, the Octagona team has identified in detail the fundamental stages:

  • Analyses in-depth analysis of the company and market of reference;
  • Strategic commercial planning to define the timing and steps;
  • Product registration so that they can be traded within the United Arab Emirates;
  • Profiling of potential leads with whom commercial relations have been established; 
  • Participation in sector fairs on site by the assigned temporary export manager.

Results Obtained

The Octagona team managed to:

  • Register all products of Pierpaoli, a fundamental step for their marketing within the UAE territory;
  • Conduct a market research detailed regarding the cosmetics sector in the UAE (product analysis, packaging, competitors, etc.);
  • Identify through ad hoc research and participation in trade fairs key people with whom to form collaborations (in total 84 companies were identified);
  • Exploring new markets (further opportunities in the Iraqi and Indian markets were identified during the project).
