The new maximum amounts will allow companies to benefit from greater liquidity for their cross-border investments, both in absolute terms and in proportion to their size limits
(turnover or equity depending on the instrument) making, in fact,
the most attractive subsidized loans also for MidCaps and large companies.
This last measure is added to the other two innovations already operational since mid-June,
which see for the whole of 2020 the requesting companies exempted from the obligation to provide guarantees to access the loan and enabled to receive up to 40% of the sum requested at fund lost
(for a maximum non-repayable grant of 100 thousand euros), with the remainder to be repaid over a medium-long term and at a subsidized rate (equal to 0.085% per year in July).
Finally, by the summer, the wide range of innovations introduced by the "Relaunch Decree" in response to the post-Covid19 crisis will be supplemented by the extension of the operations of loans also to intra-EU projects and by the expansion of expenses and the type of eligible businesses.
Below, item by item, are the new amounts that companies can request from SIMEST starting today.
Capitalisation: doubles from 400,000 to 800,000 Euros the ceiling of this loan dedicated to companies that export and which, compared to the others, does not have a specific intended use.
The instrument is therefore transformed into a real liquidity injection in the medium-long term
(6 years of which 2 for pre-depreciation).
Entering Foreign Markets: 4 million Euros – compared to the previous 2.5 million – are the maximum amount that SIMEST can grant to companies in relation to the opening costs of a shop, corner, showroom,
office or after-sales service center abroad.
Feasibility studies: this instrument, which covers up to 100% the expenses connected with the preparation of feasibility studies linked to productive or commercial investments abroad, sees the maximum amount rise from
150 thousand to 200 thousand euros for studies connected to commercial investments, and from 300 thousand to 350 thousand euros
for studies related to productive investments.
Ecommerce: companies that want to exploit the potential of electronic commerce can access a loan that rises from 300,000 to 450,000 Euros for the creation of their own online platform and from 200,000 to 300,000 Euros for joining a marketplace provided by third parties.
Fairs, Exhibitions and System Missions: the ceiling to cover up to 100% the budgeted expenses for the exhibition area, logistics, promotional and consultancy related to participation in international fairs/exhibitions rises from 100 to 150 thousand Euros, including the system missions promoted by MISE and MAECI and organized by ICE Agency, Confindustria and other institutions and trade associations.
