Assolodi in India thanks to the Business Mission organized by Octagona

Octagona again leading player in the Indian market, confirming its role as a leading company in internationalisation. The company (which has been involved in internationalization for about 15 years, with offices in Italy, India, Vietnam and Brazil and a series of strategic collaborations all over the world) has Indeed supported Assolodi, an association that takes the form of a dynamic reality in the province of Lodi capable of grouping local companies operating in a varied series of sectors (food, chemical, engineering, transport, construction, etc.), in the organization of an important Business Mission which took place in India from 15 to 17 March last: mission objectives, support the business growth of associated companies in Assolodi and facilitate commercial and institutional relations between the association itself, the territorial organizations of Lodi and Indian companies.

India today represents the most interesting platform to export to in the entire Asian landscape, considering not only the enormous growth potential but also the reforms that the Government of New Delhi is implementing in order to create an increasingly international and business-friendly.

So it was a operation very important, forward-looking and exemplifying of what Italian companies should domainly for two reasons: Made in Italy is going through a decidedly positive moment and the hunger for our products is growing in the world; the national production fabric is characterized by a myriad of small businesses that are not always able to go abroad on their own, so carrying out activities of this type in an aggregative manner represents a very valid option to facilitate export processes.

Octagona took care of the complete organization, preparation and management of the Business Mission: initially,  making one pre-screening stage, individually meeting the associated companies interested in India and preparing an evaluation analysis of the same (in order to understand which ones had the right characteristics); subsequently, taking care of the accompanying action of 5 associated companies, selecting and contacting Indian companies potential partners and organizing meetings with them, available to meet Assolodi.

In particular, a presentation meeting took place during the first day at the headquarters of FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce) between local industrial associations (including Invest India, represented by Mr. Dushyant Thakor, Advisor), representatives of the Assolodi delegation (including Dr. Carlo Gendarini, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Lodi), local government officials, representatives of the Italian Embassy in Delhi (Dr. Luigi Estero, First Counselor), potentially interested Indian companies and Octagona staff members: it was an important opportunity for comparison in which the Italian delegation illustrated the opportunities offered by the Lodi area to potential investors; there was also an interesting in-depth study on the New Delhi initiatives aimed at facilitating the doing business and on legal, customs and cultural issues relating to the local market. The meeting closed with a session of networking among the various participants, in which the representatives of the 5 companies of the Assolodi delegation were able to explore business opportunities.

During the second and third day, Octagona followed the companies in their meetings throughout the Subcontinent (New Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Noida, Ahmedabad, Chennai): in this regard, well 43 meetings at Indian companies potentially affected and have been carried out 14 visits to various points of sale and shopping centres.

India is now back to growing at high rates and Italian companies are looking at the Subcontinent with growing interest, above all in the light of the recent difficulties experienced by China. Much can still be done for increase Made in Italy exports to India.
