The data from the latest Ipsos study \u201cCovid-19 and businesses\u201d provided answers to these questions: interesting opportunities await Italian companies in Digital Export. Here they are in detail below.<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>What will be the three pillar \u201csectors\u201d of recovery?<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">The Ipsos study \u201cCOVID-19 and Businesses,\u201d conducted among 400 Italian companies, points to change and optimism. For 61% of those surveyed, this is a time for change, not a crisis. 56% are inclined to revise their business strategies. 70% are ready to invest in new trends: exports, digital transformation, and sustainability.<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>Better to digitize or launch new products?\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said that the first quarter of 2021 \u00abwas very dynamic. Exports rose by 41% quarter-on-quarter compared to 2020, but more importantly, in absolute terms, they reached 118 billion euros\u2014a figure higher than the record set in 2019.\u00bb<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">According to Ipsos research, those committed to internationalization have more opportunities, and digitalization is preferred over launching new products.<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>How to engage the customer more?\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">Marketing has always had a primary role, but today it has an even greater one. Especially companies that decide to export will have to, in order\u00a0<strong>keep the customer active<\/strong>\u00a0<em>(Ipsos data)<\/em>, focus on personalized targeting (43%), develop customer engagement tools such as email marketing automation (38%), have an advanced CRM system to manage customers at every stage (31%), pay close attention to after-sales service (28%) and quality (26%).<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>What communication strategy will work?<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/h3>\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">First of all, it will be important to have one.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">The communication strategy is fundamental and will need to focus mainly on\u00a0<strong>values\u00a0<\/strong>and on the\u2019<strong>social commitment<\/strong>\u00a0of the brand without forgetting the\u00a0<strong>product<\/strong>. A fundamental role will be played by\u00a0<strong>manager\u00a0<\/strong>who, at this stage will have to lead the change and affirm the corporate vision.<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>What are the current difficulties?\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">In our opinion, there are two major difficulties to consider:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">- the first one is connected to\u00a0<strong>container sea freight rates<\/strong>\u00a0which have more than quintupled since June 2019, while, at the same time, the on-time arrival rate of ships at ports has dropped from 80% to the current 35%;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 the second is the\u00a0<strong>Lack of experience and skills in Digital Export<\/strong>. A market is opening up where many companies would like to offer consulting services to their clients on business internationalization.
