India issued the new OMNIBUS Technical Regulation (OTR), legislation that marks a significant change in the regulatory framework for placing industrial machinery and equipment on the market, which will come into effect from August 28, 2025.

In particular, we are referring to Annex 1 of the measure, which contains the list of customs codes for the machinery involved: the whole world of machine tools is involved, as well as packaging machinery and machinery for rubber and plastics, ceramics and marble, construction and earthmoving machinery, and many other sectors, as well as a lot of other equipment, including equipment that is normally fitted to machinery.
