Link University is pleased to announce the official presentation of the “Smart Country Guide”, an event of paramount importance for Italian small and medium-sized companies looking with interest at the vast and dynamic market of the United States of America. The appointment is set for Oct. 8, 2025 at 5 p.m. at the Ancient Athenaeum Library in Rome, Via del Casale di San Pio V, 44.
The “Smart Country Guide,” developed by the Octagona Study Center and Bonfiglioli Consulting, is the result of a joint initiative of the Consulates General of Italy in Los Angeles and San Francisco and the ICE Office in Los Angeles, in close coordination with the Embassy in Washington DC. The handbook is aimed specifically at companies wishing to explore the markets of the Western United States, focusing on the 11 states that fall within the consular district of Los Angeles and San Francisco: California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Hawaii and Alaska.
This tool is a real operating manual, which Provides practical information on legal and tax systems, incentives, and relevant local agencies/institutions. Its direct language, the use of QR codes and hyperlinks, and the telling of 8 success stories of Italian companies already in the area make it an agile and comprehensive resource.
The guide also provides a detailed overview of economic and business opportunities in key sectors such as technology, advanced manufacturing, renewable energy, agritech and the luxury industry. The region's total GDP is around $5.8 trillion, making it one of the most attractive areas globally.
The October 8, 2025 presentation event will be a unique opportunity to meet with prominent figures and professionals who have contributed to the realization of this initiative. In addition to welcome greetings from the Magnificent Rector, Prof. Carlo Alberto Giusti, and the Chairman of the Transatlantic Investment Committee, Ernesto Di Giovanni, institutional speeches are expected from figures such as the Deputy Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, Hon. Valentino Valentini (Tbc) , and the President of the Lazio Region, Francesco Rocca. Also in attendance will be the creators and contributors to the guide, including the Consul General of Italy in Los Angeles, Raffaella Valentini , Giosafat Riganò of ICE Los Angeles , and representatives from Bonfiglioli Consulting and Octagona.
The event represents a milestone in the understanding and development of trade relations between Italy and the American West Coast, Offering companies the essential coordinates to take their first steps in a market with unique characteristics.
