Emilia-Romagna region call for proposals to support internationalization projects

The April 27 will open the Call for proposals to support internationalization projects of SMEs, SME consortia and SME associations Of the Emilia-Romagna Region. The goal is to improve competitiveness and promote exports of area companies in global markets, through a non-repayable contribution of 50% of eligible expenses.

Who can apply

The following are eligible to apply to the Emilia-Romagna Region's call for applications. legal entities based in the Region and with micro, small and medium-sized economic activity and Consortia. Economic entities may participate individually or aggregated in temporary business or purpose associations (ATI or ATS) or Enterprise Networks or consortia.

Eligible interventions and fundable activities

The interventions for which grants can be applied for must be aimed at implementing internationalization paths and make use of consulting, participation in trade fairs or promotional events in the target countries, digital marketing actions and creation of promotional materials.

Projects must mandatorily include counseling-type interventions (a, b, d). In detail, only the following types of expenses are eligible:

• Consulting aimed at improving the beneficiary's potential through analysis and guidance services; preparation of a digital export plan; preparation of a development plan in the project target markets (mere market studies are excluded);
• Internal skills development through the beneficiary's use of a Temporary Export Manager (TEM) or Digital Export Manager (DEM);
• Implementation of digital marketing campaigns or digital showcases in foreign languages, Promotion of the site through SEO, SEM or other similar methodologies, including monitoring and reporting results;
• Consulting and training in the use of platforms/ marketplace/ international smart payment systems;
• Production of videos, catalogs, directories, brochures, other materials (including digital) written in a language other than Italian, to a maximum value of €3,000;
• Participation by the beneficiary At trade fairs abroad or in Italy, in this case only to fairs with International qualification, conducted in presence or virtual mode. - In the case of in-person fairs, the following costs will be allowed.: space rental, set-up rental (including booth design costs), space management, transportation of exhibits and insurance of exhibits, hiring of hostesses/interpreters. - In the case of virtual fairs, the following costs will be allowed: registration for the fair and related services, onerous agreements with media partners, sample shipment costs;
• Participation by the beneficiary in promotional events, business meetings, B2B in physical or virtual form, collective and international level, organized by third parties with proven experience in the international arena. Eligible under this typology are consulting expenses aimed at conducting business meetings (B2B) and the costs of renting space for their organization and implementation. Eligible expenditure items for B2B and events are the same as those listed for international trade fairs;
• Overhead costs for project definition and management, including staff training for the acquisition of the new skills required as a result of the implementation of the internationalization project. This expense is recognized by applying a flat rate of 7% of the sum of the expense items indicated in (a) through (g);
• Exclusively for aggregations (ATI/ATS and Enterprise Networks) and Consortia, Personnel costs for project management and coordination.

Type and amount of contribution

The regional grant will be awarded in the amount of 50% of expenses deemed eligible. However, the regional contribution may not exceed:

• the value of €60,000.00 for single participants;
• the value of € 150,000.00 for ATI/ATS, Networks and for Consortia.

EC Regulation 1407/2013 of December 18, 2013 on “de minimis” aid applies to grants under this notice.

How to apply?

Applications must be submitted via Sphinx 2020 application. Beginning at noon on April 27, 2023, until 4 p.m. on June 21, 2023. Each participant may submit only one application.
