Exporting to India: BIS certification and conformity of products to Indian quality and safety standards

Thanks to the collaboration with AICE Italian Association of Foreign Trade, an online meeting was organised to explore the topic of BIS certification for exporting to India.

For companies wishing to introduce their products into the Indian market, obtaining the BIS certification (Bureau of Indian Standards) is an obligatory step.

This approval is indispensable for the importation of various types of products, as it certifies compliance with the quality and safety standards defined by the Bureau of Indian Standards. The body, which is responsible for regulation and certification at national level, operates under the supervision of India's Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, ensuring adherence to current regulations.
