Important news for SIMEST financing for Made in Italy exports.

Starting Aug. 6, Simest contributions will also cover expenses for projects to be implemented within the European Union, some measures will also be strengthened, extending eligible expenses and expanding the categories of beneficiaries.

The most interesting news :

FAIRS > Funding now also covers expenses for participation in international trade fairs held in Italy, also open to large enterprises.
CAPITALIZATION > Reduced the turnover requirement to 20%. required, open to enterprises with up to 1,500 employees.
INCLUSION OF FOREIGN MARKETS > Also covers expenses for warehouses, offices and after-sales centers.
EXEMPTION GUARANTEES > Until December 31, 2020, it is possible to apply for warranty exemption.
EXTENSION TO EUROPEAN COUNTRIES > Also eligible now for projects to be carried out within the EU

The implementation of the new temporary regime of aid that will enable companies to finance up to 800 thousand Euro non-repayable, raising the quota to the 50% of expenditures.

All the news in detail follows:

Capitalization:
It comes expanded to include all mid caps the possibility of accessing this financing dedicated to exporting companies and which, compared to the others, does not have a specific purpose. 
The maximum level of capital strength allowed is also raised (increasing from 1.6 to 2 for industrial/manufacturing enterprise and from 2.6 to 4 for commercial/service enterprise) and reduced the foreign turnover requirement, Which becomes equal to at least 20% of the total turnover in the last two years or to 35% of the ’year preceding the year of application ( replacing the previous minimum threshold of 35% of foreign turnover in the last 3 years )

Entering Foreign Markets
Expenditures that SIMEST can finance to companies with regard to business placement expenses abroad will also include those related to warehousing, multiple offices and after-sales service centers (up to a maximum of 3 for each type), simultaneous establishment of stores and corners, and international product certifications.

Feasibility studies
This facility will include among the expenses associated with the preparation of feasibility studies related to productive or commercial investments abroad Also those related to the company's internal staff Italian applicant, up to a maximum of 15%.

E-Commerce:
Businesses that want to take advantage of the potential of e-commerce will be able to see their investment financed (through their own or third-party platforms) even if registered with a generic and not necessarily geographic top-level domain. 
In addition, rental costs for warehouse and international product certifications may also be financed.

Fairs, Exhibitions and System Missions.:
It is expanded to include MidCap and Large Enterprises. the opportunity to access this dedicated funding to cover expenses related to participation in international fairs/exhibitions. 
Also included in eligible expenses are those related to international trade fair events that take place in Italy and at virtual promotion events.

Temporary placement of a Temporary Export Manager (TEM):
The concept of TEM to all professional figures with any specialization as long as they are functional for the implementation of internationalization projects; (e.g. “Digital Marketing Manager” e “Innovation Manager”).
In addition, additional expenses such as those for digital integration and development of business processes are included, of implementation / modernization of the organizational and management models and ideation for product and/or service innovation.
