More space for growing Vietnamese organic products

Good news for businesses engaged in the food sector: the Vietnamese government has released new data telling us how Vietnamese organic cultivation will increase sharply in the coming years. Specifically, the land dedicated to large-scale cultivation of Vietnamese organic products in the capital will double from 2,600 to 5,500 hectares in the next five years, according to the Vietnamese Plant Protection Department.

Currently, such produce is grown in 14 vegetable gardens located in various communes on the outskirts of Hanoi. Each district is responsible for assessing the quality of the land it manages and must select plots where growing organic vegetables is economically and technically feasible.

Also aiding this expansion is the new cultivation legislation, which will encourage over the next five years a privatization of land currently in government hands, which will then be used as space for agriculture.

Reflexively, this is great news for Italian companies that want to export to Vietnam or penetrate the Vietnamese market. Indeed, such projections and initiatives demonstrate the extraordinary growth of this country, and in particular of a readiness toward everything related to the food sector.
