Agribusiness in Brazil in continuous growth: let's find out the numbers of this sector and what the opportunities can be to exploit for Italian companies that want to export to Brazil in this dedicated article.
With its 90 million hectares of fertile land and approximately 13% of all the drinking water on the planet, Brazil is the largest source of food resources on the planet. The country is known to be the largest exporter of coffee, soybeans, meat and orange juice and the sector corresponds to 37% of Brazilian exports and 27% of gross domestic product; forecasts say that the sector will grow by 40% in the next 10 years.
These impressive numbers have naturally attracted and will continue to attract the attention of foreign investors especially in those industries which are corollary to the agricultural industry.
Particular attention deserves agricultural mechanics, which in addition to tractors includes harvesting machines, threshers, sprayers, but also machines for processing products. It is obvious to think that to fuel the expected growth, Brazil will need to improve the quantity and quality of the product and this can only be achieved by implementing those technological advances that are typical of the most advanced agricultures such as Europe and the United States.
In particular, it is interesting to note that in the agricultural machinery sector, Abimaq (an association that brings together agricultural machinery manufacturers) estimated the total value of the sector at around 3.8 billion euros in 2011, with an increase of 10% compared to the previous year, against an increase in the country's GDP of around 7.8%.
