This recognition is essential for the importation of various types of products, as it certifies compliance with quality and safety standards set by the Bureau of Indian Standards. The body, which is responsible for regulation and certification at the national level, operates under the supervision of India's Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, ensuring adherence to current regulations.
