Internationalization of enterprises, Total launches Lucanica Project 2.0

Total E&P Italia has decided, as part of its Sustainable Development Action Plan, to launch a Program to support SMEs in the Gorgoglione concession area.

The Program will be consistent with the Basilicata Region's economic development policy: it is intended over time to be supported by local partners, allowing a gradual withdrawal of Total from the program. The Project will enable local SMEs and entrepreneurs to develop in productive sectors not directly related to core-business

The project is implemented by Octagona and consists of the preparation, implementation and monitoring of an export mission to one or more European countries. In addition, another cornerstone of the project is the training of participating companies on the methodological approach of foreign markets through the presentation of best practices, guidelines and general directions for a successful export plan.

Internationalization is a key step in staying competitive and increasing your company's profits. Through the Lucanica 2.0 Project, participating companies will be able to learn the steps necessary for a successful export plan: the Program can be “replicated” independently for companies. In the last stages of the Project, Octagona and Total Energies will show how to be able to start the activities implemented until then, so that participating companies will be able to independently manage the acquired contacts and start conversations with new potential foreign customers.

Thirteen companies have been identified that will participate in “Lucanica 2.0,” TotalEnergies' project to foster the internationalization of their products.

Accompanying the companies will be Octagona: Alessandro Fichera and Brando Bruschi, managing director and project manager respectively, will explain the crucial steps and best practices for successful overseas expansion.

“The meeting,” pointed out Ambrogio Laginestra, territory relations manager of TotalEnergies Ep Italia, "will mark the beginning of the project activities and will also be an opportunity to learn about the history of each company. With the occasion, the opportunities that some foreign markets can offer, the next operational steps that will be undertaken and the best practices for a successful export business will be presented, this to concretize the Company's will and commitment to the enhancement of the Lucanian territory and its riches."

Training activities for companies participating in the Project will take place over two days of meetings (one online and one in-person), during which key guidelines and directions for a proper approach to foreign markets were presented.

The goal of these activities is to, once the Lucanica 2.0 Project is completed, enable companies to replicate the processes learned through participation for the replication of the stages of counterpart search, business contact and maintaining relationships in international markets.

These guidelines covered the following aspects:

- Best practices for export: the Unique Selling Proposition;
- The company's Value Proposition;
- Communication aspects: corporate brochure
- Strategic choice of target markets;
- The search for target counterparts.
