Where to sell in the European Union? Find out which countries to expand your Made in Italy in the European Union with the support of Octagona.
Europe, as is well known, is going through a very delicate period. However, the current economic situation, by and large, is improving, and forecasts point to an even stronger recovery in 2016, with several EU countries continuing to grow.
In this context, our companies must therefore seize the new opportunities coming from the countries of the European Union with which there are already established economic relations and from the emerging countries of the East, which are registering important rates of development: this discourse is especially true today, when Italian exports are in a phase of strong expansion and where it is precisely the EU that is driving this growth (our exports to the area increased by almost four percentage points in 2014, compared to 2013).
But what are the most attractive European markets in which to sell?
Let's start with Eastern European countries: according to a very recent report released by SACE, in the three-year period 2016 - 2018 in the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Romania there will be an important increase in our exports. Specifically, the most interesting opportunities are in:
- Czech Republic: textiles and clothing; consumer goods;
- Poland: instrumental mechanics; infrastructure; food & beverage; food processing; electrical equipment;
- Slovakia: metals.
Towards the countries of Western Europe, Italy already has stable and long-lasting economic relations: if we consider that we export goods worth about USD 197 billion to the area of the EU-15 countries alone, out of the total USD 528 billion globally, the specific weight of the area is well understood. Our exports will be growing in all such countries, and the best business opportunities will concern:
- Belgium: chemical sector;
- United Kingdom: transportation equipment; instrumental mechanics;
- Spain: transportation equipment, components and accessories;
- Germany: rubber and plastics;
- France: food & beverage;
- Netherlands: food & beverage.
According to the “Export Opportunity Index” indicator developed by SACE, these are the EU countries with the highest potential for made in Italy.
