Iran today represents the last great frontier of international business. The country has been re-emerging on the international stage for several years now, and countless companies are recognizing its enormous untapped potential. In fact, the country boasts one of the youngest and most educated populations in the region: of its 78 million inhabitants, two-thirds are under the age of 35. Economic growth stood at +4.31% in 2014, +0.41% in 2015, and +4.51% in 2016, while growth of +5.21% is projected by the end of this year and +4.51% in both 2018 and 2019.

And among the companies that are most benefiting from this economic and demographic development are Italian ones. Made in Italy is, in fact, an increasingly appreciated brand, with the middle class increasingly demanding Italian consumer products, while at the same time, companies seek the quality and reliability of Italian machinery, services, and infrastructure. And precisely among these companies, the latest to land on Iranian soil was Brollo Siet from Treviso.

Brollo Siet srl is an Italian company that produces and markets electrical and electronic transformers for neon signs, accessories for neon signs and signs, LED displays, and other types of products in the electrical materials and lighting sector. The company, already strongly active in foreign markets and with a production facility in India, wished to initiate a Business Development project in the Iranian market, and for this very reason, it entrusted Octagona with its expertise to prepare its entry into Iran.

Specifically, the company intended to conduct in-depth market research on the transformer segment to understand business opportunities; initiate research and contact local counterparts (importers, distributors, manufacturers, end customers) interested in establishing a partnership for the commercialization of products in Iran; implement a market entry process, initially aimed at supplying transformers (or parts thereof) and eventually establishing a local production facility.
